Here's a few stills and video from the Vintage Karting Association (VKA) race at Barnesville GA. There were several practice sessions for all classes and similar classes ran practice together to give everyone more track time. This was our first event and we spent more time than I expected fixing things that broke. Thanks to Uncle Dave for being there and helping turn wrenches. We broke a chain, clutch springs twice, brake shoe return springs twice and one of the J fasteners that holds the cap on the header. Luckily, I brought enough parts to keep us running, but I did start wondering if I was going to run out of parts! I brought 3 gallons of gas and we burned that up in the first day and a half. Our kart ran in the rear engine class for karts with engines larger than 6.1 cubic inches and was a bit out motored by the rest of the field. All of the other guys had dual carb set ups, all but one guy and us had tuned pipes and at least a couple were running methanol while we were running gas. It was a lot of fun but to race with these guys next year, we're going to have to bring a lot more motor. The event was well run and everyone there was a class act. We even got to meet one of the guys that raced our model kart in 1961, drove it to national wins and at Nassau in international competition. what kind of motor do they have on them?

@destruction12100 Mostly Macs and some West Bends. The under 6.1 cid karts have Clinton and Power Product engines. Check out foxkart61's video so see a bunch of the old stuff run and still pictures of the karts where you can see the engines.
