  • My lutino cockatiel is 2 months old and loves me. He never bites and loves playing.

  • i have many tiels for enough years, i have different cockatiels' personalities, some of them like petting some of them don't but i think that your tiels don't like petting because you are too rash, if you could be more gentle, make them love you first, treat them the best way you can, sing to them, give them treats and after a few days they will let you touch them, and if they like to pet them as well tiels can bite very hard but they don't bite with all their strenght often. let them come to u

  • @leccah ohhh ok then sorry but i never thought something soo cute can bite in an evil way... hey! maybe you should try trainging them and when ever they dont bite you , you can give um a treat! :)

  • @189crazygirl they grow out of it if handled enough. how was he supposed to know they were going to be biters? Not all birds bite, or bite hard.

  • it's because your hand is threatening when it's flat. try a fist instead, they don't like fingers as fingers are grabby :) Buddy, my tiel was the same :)

  • sigh... then why did you buy them? or just sell them to a good home with good trainers

  • Target training is a good way to earn your birds trust! There are some good vids on target training here on youtube! After the bird has got it down you can start target training to get them to come onto your hand, they will soon see your hand as a good thing, and a way to get a treat, which I recommend millet! I did this with my last cockatiel, and he would let me pet him on the back and scratch his neck, and even lay on his back in my hand! Trust me, your bird will become your best friend!

  • If they are single they are more easier to become tamed. If they are paired up with another bird they are more difficult to tame. These birds are very social. Keep them single if you want them to interact with you.

  • Birds are first scared of the owner if you don't have bondage.

Also birds of course bite you why wouldn't they?

My parents birds bite them too.

  • i have one of 9 months and when i adopt him, he was only 2. it tooked me around two months to be able to touch him. its long and you need patience patience and patienceee, but always keep tryng and dont put away your hands cuz he knows that your scared so he continues, if he understand that it doesnt scare you, hes gonna stop. and give him millet while you try to touch him so he will see that your not bad.
