How is this not musical people these are actually the top musicians in the nation it is very very very hard to enter this band all of those kids are basically on scholarship like you have to be a 4 or 5 star musician to get in that band. SU is amazing and everywhere they go people are amazed at their precision and musician ship maybe if y'all knew something about the band then y'all would know. SU has performed at Sugar bowls, Presidential parades and Super Bowls like they are a 5 star band.

@123bmogoon That's not over playing that's how SU was built and designed they practice playing like that and it's a technique matter of fact many bands envy them that they have changed their sound to compete with SU how about you take the time out to watch their halftime shows and stands a good one is when they played ULL in 2009.
-
The difference is SU plays the song for length and hype while LSU just repeats the notes over and over again that it actually ruins the rhythm.

People say SU sounds like crap cause they aren't used to this. The guys are not trying to outblow each other that is just how it was written but if you here them play it from 2011 it was cleaned up. SU is not garbage b/c they were ranked #1 by USA Today many times and were voted the #1 best dressed band in the nation by fashion weekly. I love LSU ok I'm a huge fan but you can't say their band is better than SU.
-
This is fucking garbage....All they're doing is playing at FFF.
-
everybody is trynna blow & out play each other that at some parts it sounds like a bunch of mess. but still good job
-
that southern university.....GET YA SCHOOLS RIGHT, AND SOUTHERN WAS THE FIRST TO PLAY NECK LSU BORROWED IT....
-
Yes the hell it it is musical! LSU lame ass can't hold a candle to this!
-
thts fucking SU lmao
Dude this is Southern University not LSU. I don't know the point of this video, but if a person truly loves music there is no debate. Both bands are good and I respect both styles. If you want to be technical about it I seriously doubt that Sousa would care for any of today's marching bands.

LSU Stole it. It's an HBCU tradition. Each HBCU has it's own version. LSU stole theirs.
