@Joobs0917 well we're also talking about a dead guy (Qui Gon) who Luke would never meet, vs a still living being (Yoda) who Obi Wan would of probably introduced to Luke so Luke could get more training...

@Singerazboi100 it was a mix, Yoda trianed Obi Wan in some ways, but Qui Gon took Obi Wan as his padawan (remember how Yoda trained a bunch of younglines in episode 2)

@Singerazboi100 Obi wan was trained as youngling(with other children) mainly by Yoda and then one day Qui gon noticed the boys skills and as Jedi knight he asked the coucil to have his first apprentice, coucil agreed and So obi wan became his apprentice.
