Level 42 - Tired of waiting - cover

One of my fav songs of the Forever now album. I have only spend a few hours on the bassline so far, but this is how mark plays it more or less i think.

There are a couple of bars where i got distracted by a strange buzz/crack sound... I was like OMG my bass is braking down for a second, but it was false alarm luckily :)

you have a great ear! it almost sound like the real song, You appreciate Mark King way to play Bass, to me is one of the greatest bass player of all times, specially when it comes to creativity, he can be very colorful. He is super creative when it comes to play bass and sing along.

Well, with Out of sight I use a pretty hard slap to give the notes more bite. This line sounds nice with a more round slap tone so i had to hold back a bit. and your right, the fingerstyle bit is indeed tricky, still mess that up occasionaly lol

Controlled thumping? Thats something you can do - not my specialty, my 'inner nutter' comes out when I strap the bass on :O)

Its a simliar feel with Out Of Sight, at that tempo slap shouldn't work, but it does!! (and that damned tricky finger style bit!!)

Thanks J, It's not like a very hard line to play (for level 42 standards) so it's easyer to play it with the right feel..alteast thats what i tried to do. The hardest was trying not to slap to hard, this line needs nice controled thumping :)
