I thought about getting FFXI on Steam but have no idea if i should get it. I've heard very mixed opinions on it. I'd rather not waste my money on something that turns out to be trash, especially since it has a subscription. Should i go ahead and get FFXI or get FFXIV?

@Hamstergeval The games are programmed on the metal for the consoles which means they run much, much more efficiently on that specific hardware. They artificially cap the FPS at the lowest they anticipate to get from the console hardware to give a more consistent experience. Many games on consoles are capped at 30 FPS like that with a few at 60 FPS. This is why my system, which is a lot like yours, can dip down to 70 FPS when playing Black Ops -- it's horribly optimized for my hardware.

@irelandcool1 I got a ps3 and xbox360. Both won't be able to run it better then the PC.A i7 2600k sandy bridge, 6gig corsair Vengeance 2000Mhz and a Asus EN GTX 570 DCII out runs them big time. Yet I can't get past the 30fps?? Believe me on this one. The ps3 nor the xbox360 will be able to run this past the 20-30 fps, due to the fact that the game isn't optimized. You can try and discuss with me all you want, but the out come stays the same. Game won't be released till they fixed the game.

@irelandcool1 Wrong. No matter what kind of disc, a unoptimized game will run like crap nomatter what. Also the PC can handle way more then consoles can. A blue ray disc is just a HD-DVD that can handle more data. It doesn't give a increase on anything like perfomances and and animations. So if they would release the game and you would play it right now. You would still lag like crap and won't get past the 20-30fps. The engine needs to be updated to fix those things.

@irelandcool1 No, They will release it when everythings fixed. I play it on the PC and theirs still so much to improve. The engine isn't optimized at all, the animations look like crap, there isn't really a story except for every 5 class levels. They've improved a bit by adding quests. So it has nothing to do with the hatred for the game, it would just end up as a poor port. I just gave you all reasons why they're delaying. Also, I said that FFXI (ff11) won't be released on the ps3.
