Yes you are right - I should choose my words more carefully. I suppose I was attempting to say that I've tried so hard to like it but just can't. They are obviously passionate about their music. To me it sounds like complexity for it's own sake. But I'm clearly massively outnumbered - all these things are a matter of taste.

I'm not some idiot who doesn't appreciate fine music, but Weckl and Chick Corea is one thing I just don't get. I just find it all ridiculously pretentious and irritating to listen to. I've tried so hard to get into it over the last decade, but I just can't. Would much prefer to listen to drummers like Gavin Harrison in Incognito or someone like Bernard Purdie who can make a 'simple' groove sound phenomenal.
