What I wanted to point out is that your statement is belittling.
1. They are some of the best musicians in the country.
2. They are required to maintain Marine standards as to grooming (hair length, etc.) and have strict weight requirements.
3. Their on going training not only includes music perfection but also marching perfection.
4. Their pay is 75% of city orchestras.
5. They have Discipline

I'll take the Commandant's Own over the President's Own. Any USMC bandos out there know if they are separate units or they all drill and rehearse together? Thanks in advance.

@runnyrunrun Correct! They are recruited from college this country! All come in as E-5 pay grade. They are for show (play your music and don't talk) type....

Loved hearing the President's Own play Scotland the Brave, even w/out the pipes! I think there are more of us Americans of Scots descent than there are Scots in Scotland!! What a great tribute to a great country.

Ludwig van Beethoven for Johann David Ludwig Graf Yorck von Wartenburg.
Its one of the famost Prussian Military Marches.

Ludwig van Beethoven's Marsch Nr. 1 in F-Dur, more commonly known as Yorckscher Marsch, was named in 1813 to the prussian general Johann David Ludwig Graf Yorck von Wartenburg, who signed the convention of tauroggen in 1812 for prussia.
This incident is considered as the beginning of the wars of liberation against napoleon by the german states.
