"Be Canadian buy Canadian." Please spare the patriotic tears. We all go to Wal Mart (an American chain) where we buy the cheapest Chinese shit we can get our hands on. We use it for one year until it breaks, then go back to Wal Mart and buy some more cheap Chinese shit. We've all done it and everyone out here knows it. Our government has an obligation to be wise with our tax dollars. Planes were flying faster and farther than the Arrow at less cost, and they weren't cheap Chinese shit.
@AgentJayZ If you google Avro Arrow information you can see for yourself that a warning was issued to the government to not embark on this project with Avro because of there miserable track record. They even wanted the British to take it on rather than Avro. Unfortunately this warning was not heeded and after we sank $400,000,000 into it Avro still wanted us to lock into a contact for $3,750,000/plane even though they still had not tested it with the Orenda engine or a weapons system.
And we can't without American approval because of the pact he signed that stated we cannot create a fighter or defence program in our atonomy without their conscent. Sold out then, Sold out in NAFTA. Be nice to see one of the replicas fly again with the few remaining Orenda engines.

@banjer4u How are your plans to open a Canadian store going? I'm sure you are all over it, because you clearly are such a patriotic Canadian.

Oh...he WAS about Canada...but it HAD to be HIS Canada. The one flying the Red Ensin as opposed to The Maple Leaf!

OnLine...your understanding is a bit thin. Try reading any book about the Avro Arrow. Deif literally killed the Canadian aerospace industry.
It's crawling back now, 50 years later, but we still don't design fighters or jet engines. Because he was a... a... a politician.

When did Dief say not to buy Canadian. That guy was all about Canada from what I understand.
