Nina gently knocked on the glass doors, and patiently hoped for them to spring open as her dear father appeared behind them just as he used to so many years ago. She waited out in the bright porch, taking a glimpse down at her eager daughter beside her; deep inside she knew the door wouldn't open as she wished it would, it never did. Her eyes narrowed as she peered through the doors; the house was dark. Nina sighed as her hand went for the doorknob ... as always the door was unlocked. Closing the door behind them, she set her bag down and shook off her coat.

"Hello?" She called out into the dim walls. There was no answer. She grabbed Selena's small hand in hers and cautiously began to start their way up the spiral staircase where the house suddenly seemed to grow darker and darker as they went on. When they arrived at the top, she directed Selena to the left for large wooden door. Her palm rose up on the cool texture of the door as she quietly deliberated wheatear if they should go in or not but almost as if it were a routine, she pushed the door open. "Dad?" She whispered to the figure, sitting motionless on the leather chair that was faced towards the windows. Nina softly motioned for Selena to stay in her place "Hey daddy, how are you?" She cooed gently as she approached the slumping figure.

His turquoise eyes ever so slowly shifted to the brunette girl before him. Just looking at her for a few seconds, made his heart ache within his chest, she looked so much like her. The girl, who had left this world without him, left him dwelling alone in the bitterness of darkness of what used to be their joyful home.

"Daddy, I brought Selena to see you." Nina smiled warmly at her father's aged face; she waved her hand at the little girl towards her. Nina kneeled in front of him with Selena in her arms "Say hi to Grandpa Logan, sweetie." She whispered into her ear.

"Hi, Grandpa." Selena's squeaky voice filled the room, for a second lighting up the room in an inviting vibe. Her round blue eyes searched through her grandfather's own pair of blue eyes, but the spark she once saw in his eyes when Grandma Selena was alive was gone, vanished.

Nina sighed as Logan swiftly swayed his gaze back to the window. "Go to my room, and play in there ok? I just have to talk to Grandpa alone for a minute" She said lowly to Selena and the brunette young girl nodded as she rushed towards her mother's old bedroom. "Dad, Ian and I were talking about you and you're stability and we decided that it would be best if you moved in with us for a while, at least until Grace comes back from her trip." Nina kept chocolate melting eyes on her father's tired gaze, studying him carefully. "What do say?"

"I'm not going." His low voice grumbled in a hoarsely tone. Logan looked at his youngest daughter; her eyes reminded him of Selena's matching pair of mocha brown orbs. "I can't go."

"Dad, please you-" Nina started shaking her head in disagreement but before she got far with her thoughts, little Selena appeared at the door with a light brown guitar in her hands.

"Mommy, look what I found." She smiled widely as her fingers ran along the wires. Her amused aqua blue eyes rose to meet her grandfather's horrid glare. Selena jumped back as the man harshly snatched the old guitar from her small hands.

"DO NOT TOUCH MY THINGS!" Logan yelled bitterly at his granddaughter as he took the guitar as far away as possible from her. "She loved it when I played for her." He said in a quieter tone.

"Dad, do not talk to her that why. She didn't know." Nina spat angrily, she rushed towards her daughter and held her in her arms. Nina swallowed back the lump that was now forming in her throat. "Maybe, it would be better if you stay here. Ian and I will come check on you whenever we can."

As the words, slipped from her lips Logan realized the last person who still believed in him to get better, the last person who prayed for him every night, the last one of his three children had just given up on him. But this was her favorite guitar, where she sang to him while he played along to her creating what was a beautiful sound. Logan recalled back to when he first had gotten that guitar for her, after their first anniversary together. It was the best thing he had ever given her but that beautiful music that came from her came to a screeching halt one day. The day, she left him. He couldn't blame her though, it was his fault she was gone after all. It had been three months, five hours, forty-five minutes and twelve seconds and he still couldn't stop blaming himself for her death.
