  • Great historic film... at 3:30 point, that is Naples (water front community of Long Beach, CA. and Alamitos Bay) As the shot pans over the bay, you see a large structure with a smoke stack(3:59). That is the old Edison Power Plant that use to be located in Seal Beach, at 1st Street. It appears that the photographer was standing on the bridge on Neapolitin Way.

  • @cwhitesb thanks! Someone else sent me an email identifying the old power plant and the Naples area. Very cool to see how it looked compared to today. Thanks for the comments and info!

  • Min: 3:47 that is 'Naples' harbour, located in 'Los Alomitos bay, in Long Beach.

  • anyone who had the sense to buy a place in Naples in the 50's is of course very wealthy now. I just visited last week in LB...Naples always looks great. Belmont Shore, though, has lost its old charm. Remember Hoefly's ? The Belmont Theater? Steak-O-Rama? Funny story...my mom said when she was going to Wilson HS, she and the girls went drinking down in Naples, and my mom threw up into the canal. Great clips.

  • Thanks for posting these great movies
