  • There are a lot of double entries on that list

  • One of the reasons for high salaries is competition between schools for better teachers.I sometimes wonder how much of this really goes on when the best math teacher I ever had was an underpaid prof at a technical college. However, college tuition as well as various state taxes pay these exorbitant wages. One lady mentioned that one of the sad things about this is that staff wages will suffer so that the tenured salaries can remain sacrosanct. Good video

  • Great job with this report, BrotherJohn. Thank you for putting it out.

  • Thanks Brother John. These sky high wages in the public sector is Money Well Spent. This is the support system for the Evil Monster. You can’t rob and destroy a nation the size of the U.S. without a strong support network. The public sector workers are the evil empires support network.

  • @Motoicon Here is how and why you sound religious. Your "faith" in the free market to solve any and all problems is actually very similar to the faith people used to have in the Church, before the enlightenment, and before capitalism usurped the Church's authority. Your statement, "There is nothing the private sector cannot do a thousand fold better [than govt.]" is just like something a religious zealot would say about the Church. The difference is you are a free market zealot.

  • @Motoicon (cont.) ...and I didn't tell you "to read a book". (I didn't tell you to go read Marx.) I suggested you go read about the concept of externalities: basically, costs not transmitted through prices. (Look it up on wikipedia if you hate books so much). Only lack of education could make you so ignorant about the true costs - and benefits - of the free market and lead you to the ridiculous conclusion American style capitalism can function w/o a strong vibrant government.
