Most kids mechanics fal apart when they try the "slidestep" I'm not going say that I agree with what this video is about I really don't know but the slidestep can cause all kinds of injuries to players. It can also lead to a shorter stide and lost velocity. It can also lead to timing issues and opening up at the wrong time.

not sure I agree...seems to take away from pick to first or second?? but...and why do that if you can just slide step?? pitch coachSSHS

Nonsense! The National Pitching Association, using their state-of-the-art 3D motion analysis at the NPA Performance Lab in San Diego, proved this to e a big fallacy. They were are able to capture both deliveries from the same pitcher and overlay for comparison and show this teach not to be true. The quick step did not get to release any faster. Did this instructor time it?
