This is the story of 400 rounds of ammunition and a new pistol called the DB9-- Diamondback's latest micro-compact pistol. Founded by a former Kel-tec employee, Diamondback is based in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Their first model, the DB380, has earned the favor of gun writers and the trust of many concealed carry shooters. When the DB380 was first introduced, I called it the pocket Glock that Glock never made. The new DB9 is slightly larger than the original DB380, but affords shooters the more potent stopping power of 9mm. The DB9 is also much smaller than its main competitors: the venerable Kel-tec PF-9 and Ruger's new LC9.

  • Chipped feed ramp is a big issue. I'll be keeping an extra close eye on mine. I have 550 rounds through mine and love it. Great video!

  • @wsrush1985 Yeah, I think I better send it back to Diamondback and get a new barrel.

  • Why did you have to send back your DB9?

  • so how about your overall rating: 1 to 10?

  • @beknd4pees I'd give it a solid 7-8. Size is good. Grip is a bit uncomfortable after shooting a lot of rounds. Very very accurate for such a small pistol. Sights are a plus. It's smooth and the trigger is PHENOMENAL.

  • Doesn't using +P ammo void the warranty?

  • why the FUCK would you use wolf, its the worst ammo out there and its a flash not fire, you must not own alot of guns/ not alot of experience with guns

  • I have a db 380 I got new 2 months ago have about 300 rounds with no issues. Ive heard alot of people say bad and alot of people say good things. Every gun has problems.Look up youtube Sig p290 or KAHR cm9 on here. Every gun has some kinda issues sometimes. My LC9 only had a couple misfeeds, my taurus misfed every 5 to 7 rounds and fte, the diamondback I have stovepipe 1 round and my little cousin was limp wristing. other then that no problems.

  • Just wasted my money on a DB9. It is a total failure and a piece of crap. Misfeeds, jams, fails to eject or feed, sends bullets flying low and way off center to the left. Am I dissapointed. I've been ripped off. Stay away from this junk.

Thanks so very much for this vid. Why did the slide hit ur hand? Did ur hand slip out of place or did the gun malfunction? How many jams & misfires did you get? I am thinking that the metal is so light & weak on this gun that u wud not want to shoot a lot of rounds w/ it; just a few & then carry it, knowing in ur life u will never shoot it more than 12 times, if ever. I know that + P invalidates the warranty, but I wonder if the gun wud be more likely to reload w/ + P?

How about JB weld instead of Lock-Tight?

  • Are you sending it back b/c the trigger pin keeps coming out? I hear all that Diamondback will do is recommend you use Lock-Tight but even then the pin appears to keep coming out.
