Cougar thanks Mav for helping him land. Maybe he wouldnt have needed his help if Mav hadnt been showboating with the Mig. Iceman smelt that rat when he asked Mav Who was covering Cougar while you were showboating with this Mig?.

Mav does decide to go back and help Cougar land his plane though. Funny Coug responds ''Thanks Mavrick'' in response to Gooses ''Cougar?!'' shout just outside Stingers office. Maybe because Goose seemed more concerned about running out of fuel (''Come on Mav, let land this sucker'' and ''What are you doing Mav, weve got no fuel for this'' Goose) than his wingman?
