We have been working in the garden clearing away the plants that were abandoned long ago and have got out of control. We still have a lot to do but I decided to get some compost and start some of the plants we want growing in pots. I was in our local Sainbury's supermarket and saw they were selling big 17kg bags of compost for about £4. It seemed like a good deal, but then again I have no idea how much compost one should expect for ones money, I am new to this.

  • I don't understand why you didn't just plant the beans outside.

  • @Praxxus55712 The reasoning was that to start with, while they are small it is better to protect them from the elements. Then bing them out when they are larger.

  • Should definetly have a compost pile in the backyard...wouldn't take up much room and would provide excellent free organic compost to keep the garden going.

  • @dionysusstar Yes we do, but it takes a year or 2 to make compost from waste and we needed some to get us started.

  • Beautiful bluebells! Watching your vid made me feel so guilty for having done nothing yet to our vegetable patch which is now buried under heaps of weed...

  • @BaghdadBeat07 So you have had three more years. Have you done anything now?
