  • bertha thompson, "Rake Knitting Patterns" i found it on a site about industrial arts and vocational arts. i was hoping you knew about it and could find a copy. i was researching the history of rake or loom knitting among the many names for this type of knitting. this is so NOT fake knitting. it has been around since at least the middle ages. i found a site that spoke of all the items made from loom knitting: vests, petticoats, sweaters, socks, stockings.. i can't remember them all.

  • @sunne1954home Believe it or not, it looks like one of my 'local' libraries has a copy! wow! will be checking it out..

  • check out bertha thompson's book on loom knitting it was published in 1923

  • @sunne1954home what is it called?

  • i have been a knitter for several years...and i started looming not too long ago...i was taught and read that garter stitch is...knit every row...or purl every row...when you knit with needles knit one row and purl the other row that is stocknet stitch...anyways...good video

  • Knitting on a loom is like knitting in the round on needles. The right side of the work is always facing you. So just like working in the round on needles if you want stockinet you knit every row, if you want true garter stitch you alternate knit and purl rows, and if you want reverse stockinet you purl every row.

  • I started loom knitting in january. still learning but since you made the video in 2006, there has been alot of people who are look knitting and a lot more resources now. Without youtube i would not have been able to do it. I need to watch how its done not just read directions. Anyways Your kids must be growing by leaps and bounds by now :)

  • What brand of loom do you use?

  • where did you get the pattern for that blanket?

  • just got a knitting board for
