I think that you should not underrate the physical contact in Basketball. It's just not as obvious as in Football. Of course, there's more body contact in the NFL, but I think that a pure athlete like LeBron James wouldn't need long to get used to to physical toughness in the NFL. The question is if he has the skills and I think one can't judge that unless LeBron really tries to play in the NFL :D
You're right. Barry and Dorsett were more than just scat backs (speed backs) because if you look at their highlights, you can see them breaking tackles also. Even though they wasnt known for strength, they were stronger than what people realized. We will just have to see what Chris Johnson bring to the table over the next years.
They were both pure runners. AP has speed like Barry did. But AP is a pure runner. Your not automatically a speed back if you have speed. Your only a speed back when speed is your one advantage, and everyone who is like that is a speed back. They are forced to use speed every time they get the ball. And if you have ever done Gassers in Football, you would realize it is very tough to run consistently at a high speed. (especially gassers, one set = 1000 yards!!! but they last a while..)
Adrian Peterson, simply because Basketball is really easy. Football is much more physical. When Lebron said he would play for the Browns, people made a big deal on how he would not be good because football is so much harder than basketball. Although Lebron did play football, that was a while ago. He is used to getting Basketball contact which is weak compared to Football contact.
