@rossco010 if you have a 50 meg connection your top down speed will be 5 meg learn what you are saying I work for virgin media I know what im talking about little boy.

@AliRidge2 Actually Virgin Media are getting worse. I've been a customer for 9 years and never had an issue. The last year or so, they've been having problems with high jitter, and it's affecting a lot of people who play online games, including myself. BT Infinity doesn't have this issue.

@ubbeer1 Of course you download at the speed you have. Learn the difference between a Megabyte and a Megabit.

remember when you download a file you wont download it at the speed of what you have, if you are downloading a file of 700meg and you have a 50 meg connection you will download at just over 5 meg a sec 40 meg connection download t 4 meg and so on
30= 3 meg
20= 2 meg

@Mrdaddygangster 50mbps is megabits per second and because their are 8 bits in a byte, it actually works out as 6.25 megabytes per second. Most files are measured in megabytes and Internet providers advertise their service in megabits (to make it look faster) so it can get very confusing :)

i thought, its like if you got 50mb download speed, and when you download a file which is about 700mb, you could get a download speed rate of 46-50mb/s? Why are you only getting 5.5mb/second, could you please explain me. thanks

I have 50mg but the super hub they give out now keeps resetting Im told its netgear that needs to send out new firmware updates.

Now I'm not an expert on Internet and I know people may disagree but virgin is AWSOME you lot just keep complaining on YouTube complain to them FFS we did that an got good Internet virgin is brilliant we bin on um for 6years and they have improved loads upgrade your virgin media and slap bang you got good Internet :D

I can run 16-20 man server using 1.6 upload on TF2 or counter strike source or two 8 man server Left 4 Dead.
