  • New Jack Swing is 100 times better than some of todays music big ups to the legend Teddy Riley for coming up with a masterpiece in music

  • I don't give a fuck what nobody says Teddy Riley is a fuckin legend. You think any of these crap ass artists these days can accomplish what this man did for all those years. New Jack Swing changed R&B and Hip Hop forever!!! The Best years of the NJS in my opinion are 1988 1989 1990 and 1991 BIG THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE WITH ME NEW JACK SWING FOREVER BITCHES TEDDY RILEY IS A FUCKIN LEGEND!!!

  • I'm a kpop fan but i hate it when crazy fans insult him. Yeah what he said about the wondergirls was stupid, but they need to realize without this man, Kpop would not be where it is now.

  • Those of u who hate newjack swing Most of MJs music was new jack swing

  • @osaji922 the west coast 'gangster rap' scene of the 90's till Puff Daddy's Bad Boy records took HipHop into a much more pop friendly direction. But its not so much about just the album itself, but rather what the album spawned. Its cultural impact.

  • @osaji922 What's interesting is that even though I haven't listened to the album since I was a teenager, I can still remember most of the lyrics. But anyway its cool to like NWA now that its no longer as controversial. I mean what distinguishes it was that its the first album of its kind. It had the 'shock of the new' about it. It changed the course and literally choked anything that seemed 'soft' by comparisom. De La Soul's 3 Feet High & Rising came out the same year but Dre and Cube birthed...

  • @osaji922 Its a classic album and one of the most influential records ever made. No one can deny that its a landmark record as pivotal as the Sex Pistols debut album, but I call it how I see it. Its legacy was destructive in the grand scheme of so called 'black' music. I don't expect everyone to agree with my opinion, but I stand by it.

  • @osaji922 The beats on that track and the album in general are are infectious, but once you get beyond an impressionable age, lyrical content matters. At least it matters to me. I'm much more selective about what I listen to as I've gotten older. It isn't simply a matter of changing taste. Shakespeare said "if music is the food of the soul, play on". Music definitely feeds the soul, and I choose carefully what I feed into mine, just as I would with a growing child. Take a look at where we're at!

  • @bolder2009 and ultimately unappealing like most rap music today.

  • @bolder2009 you simply can't fin rap songs like that these days. If a rapper was saying these lyrics today it would sound so serious and real almost as if to say "This is how you REALLY treat a woman." It wouldn't sound so goofy like. In the rap "I Aint The One" you can also hear the stereotypical black girl's voice which was often used for comedy's sake during that time. That to me doesn't send a message to take the lyrics seriously at all. If it was rapped today it would be WAY too serious

  • @bolder2009 That's true but I guess it's how you perceive it. I don't take any of their lyrics seriously. I mean just like the lyrics you wrote. Any guy that treats a woman like the way NWA raps about in their songs are clearly messed up in the head if you ask me. I can see how it would have negative influence on inner city blacks though. If you listen to "I Aint The One" what stands out the most above the lyrics is the wacky whimsical way in which the rap is done with the carefree light beat

  • @osaji922 NWA also sent out messages like "You know I spell girl with a B! A brother like me is only out for one thing, I think with my dingaling, but I won't bring no flowers to your door step..."
