I'm not saying that you're wrong but I've listened to Cat Power once and that was enough for me. Enough to fall in love with her and her music. She's a treasure!

One can not just listen to Cat Power a few times and be expected to like her! She is very much acquired taste. But once you have truly listened she will take you on a heartbreaking journey through your deepest sorrows and brightest joys.

I just feel that this artist is completely overrated. Even though her covers might be original, they still are amateurish, bland, and performed with the energy of a snail. I rarely post anything negative but after finding a couple of videos and listening I have to comment. As someone said earlier, they have heard home videos that have far better performances, I have to agree.

I knew the eat Sandy Denny's version long before I heard of Chan Marshall. And I can say with some authority that you are being an asshole to Cat Power and her fans.
She has her own thing, not trying to outdo or replace.
