The recorded version of this song -- with the amazing McCrary Sisters -- is on "Forgotten But Not Gone," a benefit album to raise funds for the thousands of Gulf Coast residents still displaced by Hurricane Katrina five years after. The whole album is first-rate, but this track puts a chill up my spine every time. Check out the site to sample all the songs.

The first time I heard this song was from Mike Farris as well. He's awesome. The crescendos are so expressive in this song!
