In Icons of Evolution (http://www.iconsofevolution.com), biologist Jonathan Wells compared icons of evolution --such as homology in vertebrate limbs-- with published scientific evidence, and revealed that much of what we teach about evolution is wrong. Published in 2000, the book raised troubling questions about the status of Darwinian evolution that are still plaguing scientists today.

homology was a good technique to start with when building the 'tree of life' in the early days of evolutionary theory. though ofcourse it isnt foolproof. thankfully we now have genetic techniques to assess how accurate these connections are.

wih the octopus, yes you can say the octopus shares common features in the eye, but homology doesnt just focus on one small part and assume relation. homologous comparrisons would point out a lack of backbone and so the organism is very distantly seperated.

No, my reasoning is from the convergence of several lines of scientific reasoning from dozens of different disciplines. All the evidence is empirical in nature & has been argued in the scientific community & has passed peer review (see PubMed for articles).

ID has been shown not to be a scientific concept both in the scientific arena & in a court of law. It doesn't follow the scientific method & cannot be falsified.

So, what parts are ID

Cam, your reasoning is presumptuous. Sure, you could guess that the parts are due to a process called evolution, but you could at least as easily deduce that these parts are due to an intelligent designer.

No, the evidence for common descent comes from looking at fossils & following the changes in transitional features as they gradually change in structure from more primitive organisms to more recent organisms. An example would be the evolution from a fin to a leg to an arm to a wing. There are still the same bones involved, still five "fingers", still at the same location on the body, etc.

My head spins when I ponder on the circular reasoning used by Darwinists. Homologous structures are DEFINED as those arising due to descent from a common ancestor, in order to distinguish them from those structures that merely look similar, e.g. due to convergent evolution. Having decided / inferred which structures arose by common descent, the Darwinists proceed to use these examples as EVIDENCE for common descent......I think.
