i'm getting 44mpg in the city on 87 octane in my smart and 53mpg on the highway. i know over 100 smart owners and none of them get 33mpg...

Great video! I love the reaction from the driver of the minivan when he hears it only gets 33MPG. Funny interview with the three teenage girls as well. Obviously, the Hummer still has some appeal to the right crowd eh?

This guy is an idiot.... I get 43-44MPG over the past year. As for the comment about storage, I get fit 2 sets of golf clubs in the back with no problem. The last thing us Smart owners need is a moron like this going around talking about a car he knows nothing about.

people use "hybrid" a lot, I do wonder whether they know what it means exactly...

Test drive the Diesel version.
80-100MPG, Just as easy to park and not all that slow.
Simples. The car is for people that don't 'GET' obscene cars. You know...people with an IQ higher than 40.

Yes, it's a rental. And since Dodge doesn't want to put the 0-60 on their site, I gave it some pedal to the metal. The Drive By Wire throttle only makes it slower.
And, I like to "test" rentals out.
Long story short, the base version of the Caliber makes the econoboxes seem, expensive.
But my main complaint is that there's NO feel in the steering wheel.
The Caliber is taking the place of a 03' GMC Envoy XL, one of my favorite GM suvs. It's engine decided to stop working at 147k.

I sincerely appologize for you driving a Caliber. I'm assuming it's a rental or punishment from god. It's as ugly as it is slow. And hey, if you don't mind it taking 12 seconds, why would you even know about low gear? If going super slow doesn't bother you at all?? :)
-
Actually top speed is electronically limited to 90mph. Several people have taken off this limiter and have reached about 118mph, or the top speed of common imports.
And 12 seconds to 60mph is not all too slow, there are several American made vehicles that will do 10-12 seconds. For example: The Dodge Caliber (1.8L) that I'm temporarily driving for right now will get to 60 in 12.2 seconds in D (drive) and about 10 seconds in L (low gear, will cause damage if used like that normally).

Jaja i wasnt saying that XD i was just saying that you can't expect much performance from a engine so small XD but hey, let's not fight everyone can have an opinion on this car XD and i respect yours
