@andysepul1 I am only using a regular collar though so I don't think it will be to bad and I will reward him if he is doing good but I do see your point with the prong and I can see how that could go wrong with some dogs if I think its getting worse I'll try your idea see if that helps thanks for the tips!!
my dog has nice focus. my idea which I was going to try this week was giving a firm correction when he acts up and rewarding when doing good with a dog my neighbor owns. well see how that works out haha.
@BelgianMalinoisfreak it was hard at first but when she got all crazy i would make more distance between me and the other dog and she would calm down and when she was doing good i would reward her. i just did it over and over. i think the most important thing is being patient. look at the engagement videos on leerburg they help. having a engaged dog makes things easier because the dog will pay more attention to you.
@BelgianMalinoisfreak i did that with my dog. everytime she would go toward another dog i would give her a pop with the prong and she eventually became aggressive but it ended up only being when she was on a leash. she would get even crazier when i corrected her with the prong. i started on working on engagement and i taught her a focus command. i would walk her and when i seen a dog come i would try and get her focused on me i would use treats.
@BelgianMalinoisfreak i researched a lot on a dogs body language and i got real good on telling when the she was going to aggress. I think the mistake i did was using a prong collar to correct her and it would make her flip out even more. i read that using a prong collar the wrong way can counter condition your dog. like if your dog likes to jump on people and you correct it with a prong collar it will learn everytime it goes near a person he will feel pain and some dogs become aggressive
I do! haha we just did tracking training with our mali Cas a few minutes ago. I think im going to do that to if dock diving doesn't work out he is scared to jump in the water a bit. But he needs a job to do! good luck when your ready to find the perfect pup!
@BelgianMalinoisfreak Dang you must live in the middle of no where. I though you might of lived near chicago or something. you should move to the city lol. Im not ready for a mali yet but i cant wait.
Awesome :) Very Impressive

@BelgianMalinoisfreak also look into using a dominant dog collar. its pretty much a nylon shocker.
