i've installed Ubuntu netbook edition 10.04 on my netbook and this fucking OS corrupted my Master Boot Record!!!

@fantomfeltpen, in 10.04 if you have a reasonable graphics card, it should work fine.

Does anyone know if sound works on the version when installed on the HP MINI? Sound does not work on it with the full Ubuntu 8.x Hardy

how did you get the desktop effects to work? I can see windows gliding away when you close them. Is that really compiz?

no it does not, you have to disable Compiz to be able to run it.
