@Gatorrock787 Thats what they called them initially but then they called it a 6 string bass or dano bass it had a differant function Fender made them too

@ArkRed1 All of them were on SPEED take a look at him he is flying high which is alright, but it took it's toll in the end like the rest of ROCK and COUNTRY stars ...good stuff ,such a distinct voice and rythem .

@candyekane "Sea of Heartbreak" is a good one. But for whatever reason, Don didn't perform it on TV much. Also, it's not written by Don Gibson... but by Hal David.

I think Jimmy Capps was the original guitarist on the record. I've heard that song covered by many, but the original Don Gibson RCA recording still gives me chills. A country music standard for the next hundred years.

@ArkRed1 You may be right. When Jimmy came to Atlanta a few months back he talked about his friendship with Don Gibson. He did tell me that Hank Garland AND Chet Atkins both play guitar on "Oh Lonesome Me".
