Acid Attacks: Disfigured faces cannot disguise Beauty (Warning -- Graphic Images)

This is a video I made in reaction to seeing a documentary. It horrified me. I had no idea this was happening. I did not mean for it to be anything other than a tribute to these heroic women.

I see now that it stirs up feelings of Religion and cultural differences and sexism and male bashing...I did not mean that.

Having said that...the facts are:

Women do not throw acid into the faces of men. and that's all Ive got to say about that, (besides the fact that women totally rock!)

When we hear the word Terrorism, we may think about suicide missions, mustard gas, the World trade centre blowing up, and hotel bombings. But men have found another way to pass on their control and power.

And this unspeakable, uncontrolled practice is called: "Acid Attacks". Which is becoming a common practice in certain parts of the World. Sulfuric acid, cheap and easily accessible like kerosene, has emerged as a weapon used to disfigure and sometimes kill women and girls.

Acid-throwing is one of the most alarming and horrific forms of violence especially targeted at women.
It has a devastating effect on the victims. It inflicts lifelong suffering on them. Even a small amount of acid, sulphuric or nitric, melts the skin tissues, often with the bones underneath exposed or dissolved.

Other effects include:
permanent disfigurement,
scars on the face and body, and narrowing of the persons nostrils, eyelids and ears. In most cases, vital organs of the survivors, especially the eyes, are permanently damaged.

It has a catastrophic impact on the lives of the victims psychologically, socially and financially.

Reported reasons for the acid-throwing attacks include the refusal of an offer of marriage, dowry disputes, domestic fights, and disputes over property. Acid attacks leave the victims scarred and often blinded.

Treatment is too expensive for most victims, and is an excruciatingly painful experience.

what kind of acid are they using? i don't know a acid that works quick like this, even battery acid will take a 20 minutes or so to dissolve skin. anybody know?

@parisruiz1 Religion does not ruin people, its people who ruin religion. I dont get why you guys blame religion when most religions in the world preach about good. Its not religions fault that some people use violence to bring out the message. Also i dont see any atheist foundations set up to help people so stop bashing relligion because you have nothing else to do.
