The first 10 and last 10 verses are so vital for every Muslim to memorize. It is said that during the presence of the Dajjal (Anti-Christ), those who have memorized these verses will pass his fitnah (test); the greatest test faced by mankind. In addition, those who memorize these verses can discern between the kufar and Muslim during that time period simply by reading what is written on their forehead (irrespective of whether they are literate or not). May Allah grant us mercy. Ameen.

It dosent matter if its the 1st ten verses or the last 10 verses if in doubt just remember both of them simple as its not a big burden is it

However, according to a contemporary (d. 1999) hadith scholar -- Muhammad Al-Albaani -- (he mentioned this in his book, "Tahqeeq Riyaad As-Saaliheen" (a review of the authenticity of the hadeeths in Riyaad As-Saaliheen by An-Nawawi), # 1028.)

الرواية الأخرى شاذة ..this other wording [mentioning "the last 10 verses"] is strange.

However, once again, Noor-ud-Deen Al-Haythami (d. 807 A.H.) opined that it was authentic.

* Actually, there is an authentic hadeeth of Prophet Muhammad about the importance of also memorizing the last 10 verses of this Surah (i.e. 100-110)

Abud-Dardaa' reported that the Prophet said: من قرأ عشر آيات من آخر سورة الكهف عصم من فتنة الدجال

The first ten verses will save you from the fitnah of Ad-Dajjal ..

Abu al-Darda (Allah be pleased with him) related that the Prophet of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said, Whoever commits ten verses from the beginning Surat al-Kahf will be protected from the Dajjal. [Muslim, Abu Dawud, Nasai, and others; the wording is Muslim]

Reading Surah Kahf on fridays is also a great Sunnah as light will shine for the one who does that, the hadith for that is narrated in bayhaqi.. Salaam

You'll have to forgive me for not knowing exactly where in the hadiths this saying is, but if you type in something like "signs of day of judgement" or "dajjal", you'll find the exact reference.

Brother of the same deen, i've read that only the first ten should be memorized, which i have done so, but Allah knows best. Can you please tell me where to look in regards to this matter? Although i've made an intension to memorize the whole Quran. JazakAllah khair
