I actually think routines are cleaner now then in the 80's.. if you watch bars .. you'll see that moves from high to low are off in the straddle kips .. plus the hip circle on the beam drives me nuts yuck. I definitely think that gymnastics in the 80s was more creative and artistic.

I think the best period of gymnastics execution wise was between 88-96... After that it sort of turned to shit. Artistry wise the 70's/early 80's still wins.

I just realized that alot of people who do gymnastics back then stick their dismount more often.
