Ozone is three oxygen atoms bonded together to form the O3 molecule, whereas oxygen usually naturally presents as more stable O2. If you run an electric current through oxygen (like in a storm, or in the schools machine thingy), it freaks a bit and bonds together in threes, not twos and voila, Ozone delicious smell. Stick it in a bottle, make sure it doesn’t break down somehow and voila voila, Rain in a bottle :D

You can also smell ozone or "static" after you turn off the old TVs- you know when you run your hand over the screen and it feels static-y, that smells like ozone too!
