This is video shot from my apartment window during Tropical Storm Irene's passage through Cohoes in upstate New York and then views of river flooding and totally awesome Cohoes Falls the next day. There isn't too much of the Hudson on here - I didn't want to go out on the bridge, as the huge pilings that usually stick several feet above the river were completely covered with water.

  • @MegensBay Yes, it was amazing. A lot of people came into Cohoes just to see that. Somebody stopped me to show me the pictures he'd taken of them on his cell phone. Really, with the beautiful weather that day, it was a lot like a party. A week later, Lee's rainfall almost pushed the falls up as high, but didn't quite make it. Now, the Mohawk is still brown, but the falls have calmed down and are running clear again.

  • I live in the capital region and have seen the falls many times but never like this.
