@19GirlBad no im sorry young lady, the beatles were a great group and one of my persoal favorites, but the original version was one the first hit songs from a small record label in Detroit. Maybe youve heard of it. tThey Called it MOTOWN. Barrett Strong, probably one the most talent & prolific writers of our time ( check the credits).

Barrett Strong's version wasn't a cover: it was the original. The Beatles' version was a cover. Strong's voice and an excellent backup band brought a special tension to the song; the other versions are interesting, but I don't think they carry that tension.
