the Tapajos river delivers its waters to the Amazon river just in front of the city of Santarem in the Amazon. The Amazon river water, rich of sediments from the Andes appears in light brown, even golden depending on the position of the Sun, is more dense and colder than the Tapajós water, that appears dark because it does not scatters the Sun light. The waters does not mix for long distance after they meet each other.
