the best way to use the fatal1ty headset is to put the mic right up to your lips then you can turn the mic volume way down but get the same volume out of it, greatly reducing that hum. also, where you are in the room will make the hum fluxuate so find an optimal spot.

I know! Be careful though, clumbsy me tripped on the long wire, and totally ripped the cable. My friend soldered the wires, but the mic doesn't work when plugged into the headset. So I bought a replacement today.

haha. dude, i got the same problem as yours. but, lucky me, mine is still under a warranty. so, they replace mine with the new one.
