Pastor Jim McClarty of Grace Christian Assembly took issue with comments that Gary DeMar made on the subject of the 1000 years of Revelation 20 in an interview a few years ago. He claims that I didnt do any exegesis in support of my claims. Friends, its hard to do exegesis in an interview. McClarty, a premillennialist, claims the 1000 years should be taken literally. Garys position is that the number 1000 is often used figuratively (e.g., Ps. 50:10). Its amazing that premillennialists are so insistent that the number 1000 should always be interpreted literally (it isnt), but words like shortly (Rev. 1:1) and near (1:3; 22:10) are not to be interpreted literally. A similar thing is done with this generation in Matthew 24:34. This is Part 1 of a three-part series.
"The Gary DeMar Show" is your 10 minutes of sanity each weekday. Gary DeMar serves your daily recommended allowances of rationality. This show is where you will hear about current events, pop culture, politics, religion, and bunches of other stuff examined through the lens of a biblical worldview.

  • Hi Gary. I appreciate your measured and appropriate response. It's good to hear someone discuss theological things without the usual name calling and rancor. Although we do hold dissimilar views of eschatology, I'm grateful for your tone and approach to the discussion.

    Grace and peace,

    Jim McClarty

  • @TCMAO0 No, he is not disqualified, you however are irrelevant. You are an internet stalker who needs serious help.

  • DeMar asked if Chains & Keys R meant to work in a literal sense & why wasn't satan locked up long before. Simple, Gods plan is to use satan to carry out HIS will in the choosing of those who will be saved. Satan serves a plan in GOD economy. Its the same as when Jesus said He could call a legion of angles to save Him but He did not, because the situation was serving a purpose in His life here on earth. There is no reason not 2 believe the Chains & Keys are not literally Spirituality real 2 work

  • @CBALLEN I know right? I can't find a single translation that says that. The NIV, NLT, ESV, NASB, KJV, ISV, GW, NKJV, BBE, D-R, DBY, ERV, WEB, and YLT all say souls and not angels. I've heard of people who believe that Christians become angels but surely this man isn't one of them.

  • @SBGGCA Calvinism + Preterism + Jonathan Edward's holiness - Infant Baptism = The GOSPEL!

  • @MrSoldierb MORE FOLKS STUCK ON A SUBJECT RATHER THAN THE AUTHOR OF THE SUBJECTS

  • you seem to be stuck on prophecy as much as they are.

    FOLLOW CHRIST AND CHRIST ALONE...

    PRETERISIM IS YOUR GOD

But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

YOU SOUND LIKE A CHURCH OF CHRIST PREACHER RAMBLIN ON AND ON ABOUT BAPTISIM

  • until u guys comprehend that only the so called west Indians and the afro Americans of the slave trade are the only ones to tick all of the boxes of the curses listed in Deuteronomy 28 and Leviticus 26 then you will never understand the bible

  • ...and I saw the angels of those who had been beheaded...?
