My lame review of the new Zen Mosaic.

20,000 Views Update: 20k?! really?! I had no idea so many people would see this... Crazy how much goes around on the internets. Well, a quick update on things. The mozaic is still here and running perfectly. battery life is still insane. There is a new Vado in the family, a Gen 1 Vado HD to be exact. No ideas on when i'll get more reviews up, but I'm currently a co-host on the Tech In Hiding Netcast over at techinhiding.com, so if you want some more news on the goings on in the world of consumer electronics, go ahead and give that a listen.

How do you use the speakers?

i can't find how to turn them on

I have this freaking annoying problem. When I plug the USB cable into my mp3 to my laptop, my ZEN moziac file doesnt appear in my laptop. Whats wrong ?

@IWAN3259 check the device manager to make sure when you are plugging the zen in, it shows up and is running properly. if it doesnt show up, or an Unknown Device shows up, there's a driver issue. get back to me and see what it says.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that - didn't work. But I tested the player on another PC and it worked fine, so luckily it seems only to be a conflict with my PC. Cleaned the registry, but that didn't solve it, but I'm sure I will find a solution for it :). See ya!

@DonnyRedNr1 its hard for me to know since its been 2 years since i've had the player, but the first thing you might want to do is uninstall the drivers, the reinstall them WITHOUT the zen plugged in. then connect the player when the driver install is done.

Okay I found the recovery Mode, but resetting the player did not work either =/.

Hey, I just reinstalled my OS, thus I had to reinstall the drivers (no, the player doesnt work without them). I had it plugged in already while installing the drivers and after the installation, the screen turned black. I plugged it off and resetted it and I was happy that it still perfectly worked... except that my PC cannot recognize it anymore. Got any clues? Any chance to format the player, or is it completely broken? If yes, can I make use of the warranty? Thanks for the help.

@CaptainAshra Thanks, I didn't know you responded, youtube failed to let me know.I also like the ipod.. I heard the small one with the touchscreen , it sounded great but not loud enough .. how about the nano? (see my checklist lol) and I dislike the itunes thing, I like drag and drop folders and something I can operate blindly.I have to admit I am still amazed with my sansa clip .. it impresses in every way .. exept the battery life, its cruel they didnt take care of that one vital detail ..

@flauwegeit to be completely honest, the iPod nano 5th gen has been the best mp3 player ive used. good highs and mids. decent lows. great battery life and perfect for music, podcasts, and audiobooks. i have yet to find a better audio player. and i am not saying that as some kind of "hey just get an ipod" kind of thing. i really love using it. between that and my sansa fuze, you cant really go wrong
