First Pigeon Racing Training Toss 2011 - ProPigeon Racing Loft

We took the pigeons to their first training toss of the year. This was 1.1 miles from the loft. They are more than likely already routing much further, but baby steps is how we do things. The racing pigeons routed around the release point, I followed them on the highway for around 10 miles in the wrong direction! No problem as they are learning right now, the entire group made it home together within 30 minutes. A good first pigeon toss!

Nice birds. One suggestion for your training: Have a solid broad under the first cage section so that poop from above do not land on the birds below. Not sure what cage is use for the release of the birds on the actual race day, but try to imitate the cage setup. For example, some release crate on race day do not allow the birds to see the outside until the door opens.
