The most precise information comes from blazblue phase 0, the origin novel.Why don't you try to find a translation, and find out the ABSOLUTE, EXACT truth yourself?

And yeah, he didn't fight the beast for every. single. moment in a year, but it's till very impressive

That's from a wikia, one where precise information is immediately suspect.

1. When he "...singlehandedly halt the advance of the Black Beast for a year" nothing of that information suggests fighting it for one year. The Black Beast stopped for a whole year, that's all that can be gained from it.

2. Implying he could've fought for longer is a no-limits fallacy. Again, nothing substantial to prove what you're claiming.
