Batman is one of the most ambiguous heroes in the comics. After seeing The Dark Knight, it really sinks in, but then it began the night his parents were murdered in front of him.

The Dark Knight had been one of escalation, one of limits, one of many things. Likewise, in the Justice League animated series Batman still has his share of ambiguities.

Especially after encountering the Justice Lords or more precisely the Justice Lord version of him.

The two were evenly matched in combat, but then its never about combat with Batman. Combat is an extension of his will.

The Lorder Batman had rationalized much of what he and the others after their Flash's death. Their Flash was killed by their world's President Luthor.

Lorders Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman assaulted their world's White House. He and Wonder Woman were delayed by Luthor's security forces.

Luthor taunted and provoked Superman about their history. Superman ultimately decides the revolving door process cannot continue...

He vaporizes Luthor and so Batman rationalizes that death. He perhaps rationalizes what becomes of all the Arkham inmates and beyond.

His Earth became 'a better world' or did it? The battle is at a stalemate as both he and Batman had points, but even so Lorder Batman recognizes what has become of him. What has become of the other Lords and their world.

In the end, he sends the League back to their world to take down the Lords.

I have always wondered what Lorder Batman looks like under the mask after everything they had done.

At the same time, the Lords as Lorder Batman might have seen had crossed thresholds or lines that were once unthinkable. However as it was later pointed out that no one is as good or as evil as they seem to be...

Song: Get Out Alive

The song more or less speaks to owning up to what's been done rather than justify it by what took place before.
