  • Thank you JoyGrenade.... actually that audio came from a radio broadcast of NYC radio WAMC-FM program "Spinning on Air" that I recorded on DAT tape. I have acquired a CD of it recently and I do intend on replacing the audio at some point..

  • Classy audio, Classy visuals. Many thanks.

  • Thank you avenga. There's that Uncle Walter moment in time. I remember in the edit room agonizing over how long that shot had to be but coming up with the freeze and successive zooms. I mean time did stand still right? Be sure to check out Lorenz's work accesible here.

  • I have loved this since I first heard it in the 80's. it isn't just a song, oh no, it is a work of Audio Art...... wish I was as clever as him =)

  • lop00...yeah Steinski's the man. Audio art is exactly it but his stuff is elevated to an intellectual plane for thinking people like us. :-) Thanks for watching and the positive comment.

    Best,

    Andy

  • Pointless and in bad taste.

  • Thank you for your comment Daryl. I stand behind my work, which offers no answers yet represents energy, faith, devotion and hope shattered when President Kennedy was assasinated. My opinion is that videos posted asserting claims such as the limo driver shot him are pointless and in bad taste.

  • @inspectorcritic I was wondering who that was, excellent thanks! Great piece!

  • Also ...

Interesting to note the sample of the Humpback Whale song between 0:43 and 0:49.

    Almost a subliminal "mourning" sound.

Evocative of the tragedy of the JFK assassination and how the American public was affected by this event.

Interesting that Steinski slipped this into the song. One more element to show just how creative this guy (Steinski) is.

    ;-)

    PlanetAndydotcom ...

Here is the URL for the lyrics to (and background information on) this classic track by Steinski & Mass Media:

    h t t p : / / w w w ( d o t ) turnmeondeadman ( d o t ) com/index (d o t ) php?option=com_jfk&task=ViewJFKTrack&jfkID=110&Itemid=88

Just substitute periods / dots "." for ( d o t ) and cinch up the spaces between the h t t p and w w w portion of the link as YouTube will not allow links to be posted.

    Take care,

  • I have fond memories of listening to this track being played on Chicago's Northwestern University's radio station (WNUR 89.3) way back in 1987.

  • Excellent work.

  • Yoko Ono

  • The video is excellent. The sound is way too loud, though. Lots of clipping.
