@munggone - Yes, of course we have the waver - It's called "wave window" and is very strictly regulated, there are actually three areas (A, B and C) which depend on the specifics of the day, you ask to the air traffic control and they allow you up to a certain altitude which they decide (I guess depending from the traffic). They will then deviate the big birds around that area.
The bad part is that the areas only about 20 miles X 10 miles, so no cross country from that altitude...

Ok, 32,000 feet in a glider in a wave... Way cool, but how does one do it legally? All airspace in the US above 18,000 feet is class A positive control airspace... Requiring an instrument flight plan and transponder... The pilot must be instrument rated... Are you getting a waver from the FAA for such flights? Just curious since you're operating in airspace occupied by fast moving airline traffic...

Hi
The music is from Loreena Mckinley, I like it because it's really "dreamy"...
If you want real wave, here in Nevada there many, many occasions...

ok kool. how long did it take to get to that height? what height did u have to put the oxygen mask on?

It took probably around one hour. Actually I could have kept going much higher than that, I left that there were still a +400, but I had the wave window only to 30,000.
By the way, it was rough, and I REALLY mean it, till about 18,000. I actually had a tow rope break at just 1000 ft over the airport... But then, as soon as you hit the wave everything gets absolutely smooth, very, very enjoyable...
Usually we put on the oxygen at about 11-12,000 ft msl.

Well, after a while it doesn't actually make that big of an effect... Seems like being over a "map" and not a real thing, the funny thing is when you see big airliners cruising around even at a lower altitude than yours...
