Total Masterpiece.

I first saw Paradjanov's films at a Soviet Film Festival at the Cine-gog in Victoria BC in the early 1980's. I fell in love with them, especially this one. I thought they were lost and I would never see them again. Imagine my joy when a Google search turned up the DVD's a few years ago. I even love the sound of the language, though I don't understand a word. Bravo to Paradjanov who made the films in the face of every imaginable obstacle, including imprisonment.

Totally agree, it is a complete masterpiece, yet it is not very well known, even among film fans

Why is this film rarely mentioned among so called "film buffs"? This is what filmmakers are supposed to be making!
