The Get Nearby Models feature is all but useless until more non-commercial models are uploaded. For instance - most of San Francisco exists in 3D on Google Earth but you can only "Get" a very small handful of models. I applaud the functionality but it will be a while before it works the way it should.
yep cause you can use Collada in GTA! Someone still needs to do that mashup! Monster milk truck was ok, but really a city needs to be built in GTA MapEditor
You have to have a geo-located terrain tile, you are building on. (I'm guessing) So open Google Earth and get a nice overhead view of the building you want to model. Then open SketchUp and click the GE icon "Get Current View" up in your toolbar. Now build a building, and when you right click a face you see the new context menu option to "Get photo Texture" from Street View. Woo hoo!
