  • you have major chromatic abberations on the edges of things (rainbow like fringing)

  • Good observation - the plano-convex lens I used to create the aerial image is from 1942, so the optical clarity of the glass is a bit of a problem. I'm not quite sure where to find a large enough diameter element to replace what I am working with though.

  • great, great video! and the music great too, what is the name of this song?

    Congratulations

  • Thanks.

Music: The French Kicks - "Love in Ruins"

  • I shot with a Canon XH-A1 - it has a fully manual setting which was a big help in the transfer.

  • Great footage! you have good taste in music and film

  • Hi, nice video...nice song what is it? oh and the link on how to is broken, it just says: We can't find the page you requested. Please make sure the URL is spelled and capitalized correctly, and try again.

  • @jpvp2 I think it makes it look even cooler :D

  • @rootsfilms It's so similar to Losing my religion the intro!

  • I've just bought a Super 8 on e-bay and can't wait to get started. Your video is lovely. I really hope I get such a good results.

  • This video is.. really amazing ! I really like this kind of movie. How don't became nostalgic ?

  • @jpvp2 .....i really wonder what 'rootsfilms' would of done without you chirping in with your NONE helpful information. Every 8mm user is surely hoping you'll pop onto there comments with more spiteful drivel!!!!!! I think its fantastic work and everything here is indicative of the time and true to 8mm. Well done 'rootsfilms'.

  • @McPfoot Why do you have to be such an asshole, huh? why? I already apologised for my comment. You don't know who I am, I happen to love film, photography, and everything related to it, but the fact remains the viedo is plagued with crhomatic aberrations, the guy even says so, it's because of the lens he used. And I also happen to be a musician, so I know my pretty good share of music. So don't try to put me down acting above.

  • @surferboy36O You'll never understand the fucking beauty of this, it's kind of sad.

also this music is beautiful you shallow piece of shit.

  • @McPfoot Shutta f*ck up! Although my observation is far from being wrong, I do apologise to the author if I sounded mean, I don't know why I said that, maybe it's because I'm tired of watching shitty videos of filmaker wannabes, maybe this is not the case. And also the crappy music is all over the place, I'm sick of it. Anyways... congrats on the telecine I guess... I like the part with the boat.
