The fourth meeting of Adaptive Motion of Animals and Machines (AMAM 2008) took place from June 1-6, 2008 at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. This meeting brought together an equal representation of engineers and biologists who are interested in movement. Alessandro Crespi has a BSc/MSc in Computer Science (2003) and PhD (2007) from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). He joined the Biologically Inspired Robotics Group, where he is currently post-doc, in April 2003. He is working on the development of biologically inspired robots. This salamander robot demo at the Great Lakes Science Center follows his journal paper -
Simulation and robotics studies of salamander locomotion. Applying neurobiological principles to the control of locomotion in robots.
