Not if it falls to the bottom. The sides are too narrow and they are slippery. Also, if it hasn't got many dead flies already caught there will be a digestive liquid to drown in. I have also heard that the fumes down there are toxic too. Its a smart plant and very effective at catching larger flies.

That is not a pitcher plant, that is a Cobra Lily. But still fun to watch.

oh no its not. Cobra lilly's are completely diffrent. They have a closed top with small opening underneath where there is a platform. The plant is a tube that twists as it grows and the whole appearance looks very Cobra snake like. Also they are green. I don't why I bother replying as the comment is clearly by someone who has not seen either Leucophylla (as in the video here) or a Cobra lilly close up.

Wierd, Sorry I guess I was confused, but there is no need to be rude. I was just commenting. I have two degrees in Floral Design, and in Greenhouse Management, and what I ordered all the time in Floral was Cobra Lilies, and that is what I got, The Pitcher Plant. Wierd, how they had them Labeled wrong. Cause I just did a google search on Cobra Lily, and your completely right. I do apologize, but next time you dont need to be a smart ass about the whole thing.

OK, sorry, didn't mean to be rude but your comment was very short, blunt and incorrect. My excuse --- It was late Sunday night,I was tired and a wee bit tipsy from a whiskey and therefore consequently short on patience. I do get a lot of stupid, abusive comments here and elsewhere. I'm sorry for being a 'smart' ass when yours was just an honest mistake.
