------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone!;)
Let's hope this doesn't get muted right away...
So I read this book a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn't (still can't) get it out of my sistem, I had to make something besides my usual art work...a video! Of course! and since I randomly saw Phantom Of The Opera a few days after reading the book, and realized there were lot of scenes I could use, I really really had to do it!:D
Of course, there a lot of (major)details I could do nothing about, like, the dogs are seriously lacking in this...I could not find a movie with dogs and a girl running around, there's only one scene in this video with a dog and it's not even the right color *cries*; I couldn't also find girls with white or blonde hair, or use some Sony Vegas effect to turn black and brown into white *cries*; what else...oh, yes, Ossin is quite handsome and fit in this, turns out ugly and fat princes are difficult to find in movies, for some reason.
Since I used mostly clips from two movies, Lissar looks different in some parts... sometimes she's played by Monica Keena, sometimes by Emmy Rossum, and sometimes by the little girl.
I wanted to do this in a trailer style at first but then I could not resist to do it more like a romantic couple video, since Lissar and Ossin are so cute together...=)
That's all I had to say, I think.
Thanks for watching!

Music used:
Requiem for a Dream by Clint Mansell
Broken by Lifehouse

Movies used:
Brotherhood Of The Wolf
Snow White, A Tale Of Terror
The Phantom Of The Opera

btw...I put he cover in the end of the video, but just in case you missed it, the book is Deerskin by Robin McKinley*bows* (and Mrs McKinley please don' get mad at me for this, I utterly adore your books.)

(For those who haven't read this book and are wondering why the hell the guy has to follow the girl on a horse while she's on foot: believe me, he needs the horse to keep up with her, she's very, very, very fast.)

  • This is such a great video! I've watched it several times. You did a great job recreating the feeling of the novel. Have you thought of doing some of Robin's other book, like Beauty? I'd love to see it if you did!

  • @mothdustmouth Hello, thank you so much :) Oh, I would love to do a video for Beauty (it's one of my favorite books ever), if only I could find the right movies to use :(

  • Wow you did an amazing job with that

  • @dreamincolor1 Thank you so much! :)

  • Beautiful trailer for a beautiful book.

  • @SashalovesErik hello Sasha! thank you ;)

  • @Jen7waters You are right, finding footage for Beast would be really difficult. Did you have any movies in mind to start from? I'm surprised no one has made a movie of Beauty. Robin McKinley's story is so much better than the traditional version (even though I love that too). It would be so much fun to cast!

  • @Shygurl026 thank you! I'm always so glad when someone who read the book tells me that!:)

  • wow.. this fits the book so perfectly!! great job!! =D

  • @LandsEbb thank you, I'm very glad to hear it :D
