World War 1; the First World War; the Great War; "The War To End All Wars".

Between 1914 and 1918, around twenty million perished on and around the battlefields of Europe.

Since that time, there have been some two hundred major wars and insurrections. He who doesn't learn from history is destined to repeat it...

I wrote "Reflections" when I was twenty-two, recorded it when I was thirty-five. Now I'm in my sixty-second year, and there are only four British "Tommies" surviving from The Great War. They'll never see the video I'm sure, but this presentation is dedicated to Henry Allingham, Harry Patch, Bill Stone and Claude Choules and all who went before them. We owe them a lot.

("Reflections" is from the "Edge Of The Dark" sessions, an unreleased collection of over fifty experimental pieces recorded between 1978 and 1981.)

***STOP PRESS*** A full-frequency version of this song appears on the Edge Of The Dark CD (Angel Air SJPCD 293)
