a bad streetfighter can win the fight !

This is such a stupid competition. Obviously the rules are not clear to either of the fighters. If you saw the whole competition (and not just this fight) the Sambo athletes were following Sambo rules, while the competition was geared more towards BJJ rules. One Sambo guy was looking at the ref while BJJ guy was hanging on him in a guard, looking for ref to stop the fight. Also I am not sure why they stood them up at 6.26...

Funny a purple belt against a good sanbo fighter...next time use a blackbelt,i think in NY there are many who love to show russian fighter how they are good on their feet!!!
Remember in adcc you can do any kind of submission a throw, and who are the top fighter?
Samboka?
Catch wrestler?
No Bjj fighter!!

BJJ is not limited, thats the point! When ur barring certain striking techniques to free up a submission move then BJJ is not being truly utilised. If theres no incentive for the guy defending his back to change position then the BJJ is resorting to strength as opposed to technique.
There maybe a million different ways to approach that situation but theres only two or three thats actually realistic...

by my count, sambo won BIG on points. very cool... BJJ guy should have started pulling guard right away so he didn't give up all those take-down points.

is this combat or sport sambo?

@gkornegay Thats correct the reason being there are no catch wrestlers in the UFC and actually Kimura has been used in Catch wrestling before Judo by the name" Double wrist lock " and 3 Gracies has been submitted by that actual move,Kazushi Sakuraba proved that Catch is equal to BJJ if not superior,BJJ lacks in takedowns, thats why wrestling is a better base for Mma

@Thomasgipsy If you go by UFC stats the RNC, Guillotine, Arm Bar and (Judo) Kimura are the most effective submissions. I don't see any catch wrestling moves in there?
Why are you silly kids fighting over what one is better and not using both? Silly gooses!
